David Veal is a native of Milledgeville, Georgia and has been
photographing for over 30 years. While essentially self-taught,
he has studied with internationally renowned photographer George
Tice. His work has been exhibited on book jackets, in magazines,
on CD covers as well as in group and one-person exhibits. He has
won numerous awards over the years for his photography. David has
never limited himself to a particular subject matter, rather allowing
his work to be more a response to the individual sense of time
and place.
Though
traditionally a black and white large format (4x5) photographer,
more recently he has also expanded into digital
imaging. While most of the work currently on this web site is
digital, plans are to add film work as well. All digital images
are printed using Epson k 3 inks and archivally processed.

Statement: |

When seeking images the photographer is seeking that moment,
that arrangement in time which expresses and defines a subject.
Given immortality by the eye of the photographer in the final
print, it lives forever.
" I always work better when I do not reason, when no question of right or
wrong enters in, when my pulse quickens to the form before me, without hesitation
or calculation." Edward Weston, Photographer
